The works included the demolition of a 1970’s bedroom wing and the construction of a new build extension with 28 exclusive double bedrooms, restaurant and conference facilities, and associated landscaping.
The conservation works required close liaison with English Heritage to agree the extent of the refurbishment works, methods of protection for listed features, and methods of restoration for existing damaged elements of the building.
All works were carried out within the live university campus and the project received a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
