Net Zero Targets Approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

Date: July 6, 2026

John Paul Construction is proud to announce that our near-term and long-term Net Zero targets have been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The SBTi is an independent organisation that validates corporate emissions reduction targets against the latest climate science.

This approval confirms that our validated targets are consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C, reinforcing our pathway to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2050.

Our SBTi-approved targets include:

  • 60% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2033.
  • 55% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2033.
  • Net Zero emissions across our value chain by 2050.

This significant SBTi milestone follows closely on the heels of our recent success at the national Green Awards in February. Where we received the Green Construction Awards 2026. Further highlighting our commitment to sustainability.

Receiving SBTi approval is a significant milestone that recognises the work undertaken by our team, and our carbon accounting partners. In developing a credible, science-based pathway to Net Zero. This reflects the progress we are making to reduce emissions across our operations through renewable electricity, lower-carbon fuels, energy-efficient technologies and continuous innovation. As we continue to deliver sustainable construction projects, our focus remains on reducing carbon emissions, supporting our clients’ sustainability ambitions and contributing to a more resilient build environment.
