Project Overview

The construction of a new winter maintenance depot on a heavily contaminated 23,000m² brownfield site on the east side of Glasgow city, including the construction of a large diameter outfall storm water pipeline across live carriageways.

Works involved significant earthworks cut / fill in heavily contaminated soils, which included asbestos fibres. These works were carried out under a controlled watching brief with a supporting asbestos analyst. We also carried out soft ground improvement techniques, surface water drainage, foul drainage, utility ducting, a 1,200m³ SUDS attenuation pond, a landscape screening berm, boundary fencing, reinforced concrete walls, a reinforced air entrained concrete slab, and permeable paved car parks (16,500m²).
