Civil infrastructure to support a new 28,000m² 48MW data centre.
As part of our fast-track construction of a new two-storey, 48MW data centre comprised of 12 data halls delivered on a phased basis, we delivered of a ground stabilised building platform and a 5,500-ton steel frame with associated roofing and cladding systems. All internal floors were poured to a FM2 standard with double height partitions along with a Cat A admin area fitout. The phased fitout consisted of top-down construction using a racking system, installation and commissioning of MV switchgear, DAHU’s, CRAC’s, UPS and complex bus duct, tap-off, and a hard wire power distribution system.
We managed and integrated all long-lead equipment to site, high-specification security systems, BMS and EPMS, and the commissioning of all systems from level 1 to 5 to fully integrated systems testing, along with all external plant and infrastructure, external plant yards, ancillary buildings, hard standings, perimeter security fencing and landscaping.
Upon commencement on-site, we noticed that the ground conditions for the data centre were not as per the site investigation and were structurally insufficient. As a result, we identified a ground stabilisation solution that mitigated the commercial and schedule impacts on the project. This ensured that the works were completed to programme and budget.
