Turnkey Data Centre Enabling Works

Demolition and enabling works for the construction of a new high capacity data centre on a 20-acre Dublin site. Works were fast-tracked under a special programme agreed upon with the Client.

  • Demolition of existing structures, consisting of façade removal, full strip-out of internal structure and complete removal of hazardous materials including asbestos and lead paint
  • Diversion and decommissioning of extensive existing services network, including ESB substation decommissioning and live gas services diversion
  • Construction of 2 temporary substations (primary and backup) in accordance with ESB specifications, which was critical to the commissioning date of the data centre
  • Installation of 30,000m of medium voltage ducting, along with a significant quantity of ducting for other utilities
  • 25,000m3 of bulk excavation and 12,000m3 of detailed excavation, involving an earthworks strategy to minimise double handling
  • Extensive drainage design to depths of 7m below ground level adjacent to the existing local road network
  • Full construction of 900m of internal road network to TII specifications, with 3 significant junction tie-ins to existing roads
