National Association of Women in Construction of Ireland

Date: July 27, 2016

During June, the team on the Miesian Plaza Development were delighted to host a site visit by the National Association of Women in Construction of Ireland (NAWIC), a representative group founded to provide a support network to females in the construction industry. A number of NAWIC members attended the site, with the experience and disciplines of the attendees covering the broad spectrum of the construction industry, such Health & Safety Professionals, Design Consultants, and Legal Practitioners.

As part of the site visit, the NAWIC members were given a presentation followed by Q&A session on the Miesian Plaza Development Project by JPC Site Management. This presentation explored the history of the site and architectural significance of the project, as well as some of the intricacies of the works requirements, most notably the extensive temporary works requirements required to carry out the considerable structural demolition works. Following the presentation, the NAWIC members were accompanied on a tour of the Miesian Plaza site, which afforded the attendees the opportunity to witness first-hand the scale of the development, the ongoing structural works and the high quality finishes and materials that will form part of the finished development.
