Ballynagran Residual Landfill Phase 1, Cell 6 & 7, Co. Wicklow
Construction of two additional landfill cells with new haul road and remediation works to previous landfill embankments. The project consists of the following works:
24,000m3 excavation to formation levels in landfill cells
Approximately 1000m of 150mm groundwater drainage installed 1M below formation levels. Installation of sump and 450mm HDPE side riser extractor and ancillary works
75,000m3 excavation to clay liner material from borrow pit area. Suitable material placed and compacted to 1:3 cell embankments to 16m high
Excavation and placement of 17,500m3 suitable clay lining material to cell bases and side slopes, placed and compacted in 250mm layers. Tested and agreed by CQA Engineer
Placement and welding of 17,500m2 2mm HDPE Liner
Installation of approx 500m of leachate extraction pipe work (150mm dia. HDPE80 Perforated). 450mm HDPE Extraction side riser pipework and all associated M&E works (pumps/control panels)
Placement of 500mm thick layer of leachate stone above HDPE liner and Leachate extraction pipework
4000m2 Haul road construction, consisting Geogrid, 6F2 Capping, CL 804
