Eamon Booth, B.Sc (Eng), MIEI
Managing Director
Eamon joined John Paul Construction in 1978 having studied at Dublin Institute of Technology Bolton Street and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Trinity College Dublin. Eamon began his career as a Site Engineer progressing to Project Manager, Contracts Manager and Construction Director. Throughout this time Eamon has been involved in some of our most prestigious and landmark projects. He joined the Board of Directors in 1998 and was appointed Managing Director in 2006.
Donal Winters, FCIOB
Construction Director
Donal joined the Surveying Department in 1978 and for a period of ten years was involved in a variety of building and civil engineering projects. In 1988 Donal became Contracts Manager and over the next ten years he managed a wide variety of projects including refurbishment, commercial, health and residential. In 1999, he joined the Board of Directors as Construction Director. Donal is also responsible for Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
Conor O'Donnell, FCA
Financial Director
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985, Conor spent a number of years in the role of Financial Accountant with a major building services company progressing to the role of Financial Controller of Jones Environmental Ltd. In 1990, Conor joined John Paul Construction and was appointed to the Board of Directors as Finance Director in 1991. Conor is responsible for the strategic planning, development and leadership of the entire finance function including accounting, treasury, financial planning and budgeting. He also has overall responsibility for the IT function within the company
Billy Keran, MCIArb
Surveying Director
Billy has over 30 years of surveying experience, working in Ireland and the UK. Having passed his final surveying exams before moving to London in 1985, he worked with a major international contractor as Managing Quantity Surveyor and then Surveying Director. Billy moved back to Dublin permanently in 2005 where he joined John Paul Construction. Billy is responsible for all aspects of Quantity Surveying in his role of Surveying Director.
Paul Aitken
Associate Director – Estimating
Paul joined John Paul Construction in 2003 as a Senior Estimator and was appointed Associate Director in 2006. His role includes overall commercial responsibility for the company’s Estimating Department. Prior to joining the company, Paul gained extensive international experience in the United Kingdom and the Caribbean as a Chief Estimator and Company Director since graduating in 1987.
Bruce Lupton-Smith
Associate Director – Construction / Health and Safety
Bruce has over 24 years experience working in the Irish, UK and South African construction industries. He spent the first 12 years of his career working for leading contractors in South Africa and the UK, working in the civil, industrial and commercial sectors. Bruce joined John Paul Construction in 1999 as a Senior Contracts Manager and was appointed Associate Director in 2005. He has been responsible for the direction and management of some of the largest and most prestigious building projects undertaken by the company.
Roy Pickford
Associate Director – Marketing
Roy has over 27 years experience working in the Irish and South African construction industries. Roy spent 15 years working for two leading contractors in South Africa, where he gained extensive private and public sector experience managing large scale retail, commercial, hotel, prisons and airport projects. Roy joined John Paul Construction in 1998 as a Contracts Manager and was appointed Associate Director in 2005. He has been responsible for a number of large scale feature projects in the education and the design and build mixed development sectors. Roy has more recently been involved in PPP’s, foreign business development and he assumed responsibility for the Marketing Department in 2009.
Henry Scanlon
Associate Director – Civils
Henry has over 13 years experience working in the Irish and UK construction industries. Following his qualification, Henry worked as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK, he progressed into project management on civil engineering projects. He progressed to Contracts Manager level with a large civil engineering contractor in 2002. Henry joined John Paul Construction in 2004 as a Project Manager and quickly progressed to Contracts Director in 2006. He manages all direct civil engineering contracts and major building infrastructure projects undertaken by the company. As Civil’s Contracts Director he is responsible for co-ordinating all activities within the civil engineering division of John Paul Construction.
Brian Stafford
Associate Director – Surveying
Brian is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 23 years experience working in the Irish and UK construction industries. He spent the first 3 years of his career working as a Quantity Surveyor in London, where he worked on a variety of private and public sector projects in both civil engineering and building. In 1990 Brian joined John Paul Construction as Contract Surveyor. He progressed to Senior Contracts Surveyor in 1999 and was appointed Associate Director in 2006. In his current role he is ultimately responsible for overall commercial and financial management of John Paul Construction projects.
